Why PayPal suspends accounts

Common triggers we see in PayPal cases:

  • Identity, business or source-of-funds verification requests
  • Acceptable Use Policy concerns about products or business model
  • Elevated disputes, chargebacks or claims
  • Unusual transaction patterns compared with account history
  • Links to other limited accounts

What your PayPal notice usually means

“Your account access has been limited”

Some functions are restricted until you provide information. This is often recoverable.

“We have permanently limited your account”

PayPal has decided to end the relationship. The focus shifts to releasing your balance.

“Your funds are on hold”

A specific payment or balance is held, usually tied to delivery confirmation or dispute risk.

Wording varies. Search more phrases in the Suspension Notice Decoder.

The official route

  1. Open the Resolution Center and list every open task and request.
  2. Upload documents that match the account exactly, in the format requested.
  3. Where appropriate, send a clear written explanation through the Message Center.
  4. For permanent limitations, track the hold period and the conditions for release.

Evidence that carries weight

  • Government ID and proof of address matching the account name
  • Business registration and bank statements
  • Supplier invoices and proof of delivery for disputed sales
  • Website terms, refund policy and product descriptions

Held funds

Under the PayPal User Agreement, PayPal may hold funds after a permanent limitation, commonly for up to 180 days, to cover disputes and reversals. The release is often a separate process from any appeal.

How held-funds support works

What we prepare for your PayPal case

You receive

  • Written diagnosis of your PayPal notice and the policy it cites
  • Root cause statement drawn from your own account data
  • Evidence gap list and document consistency check
  • Appeal or Plan of Action text written for the PayPal reviewer
  • Submission guidance and follow-up reply drafts
  • Held-funds classification and release request planning

What we cannot do

  • Reinstate the account ourselves: only PayPal can make that decision
  • Supply, edit or source documents, or describe fixes that have not happened
  • Help you open a new account or get around enforcement

How the case runs

01

Diagnose

Read the notice, the policy it cites and your account data until the real cause is clear.

02

Evidence

Build a document pack the platform can verify: nothing padded, nothing altered.

03

Appeal

One precise, factual submission through the official route, written to what was asked.

04

Protect

Keep the account healthy after the decision and release funds where they are held.

PayPal reinstatement FAQs

Can a permanently limited PayPal account be reinstated?

It is rare but not impossible, usually where the decision rested on a clear factual error. More often the realistic goal is releasing the funds on time.

Why does PayPal keep asking for the same document?

Usually because the document does not match: a different name format, an old address, or a cropped image. We check every document before it is sent.

Is getting my PayPal account back the same as getting my money back?

No. Reinstatement and fund release are separate outcomes. Even when an account is not restored, there is usually a defined route and timeline for releasing the remaining balance.

Why does PayPal not explain the reason in detail?

Financial providers are often restricted in what they can disclose about risk and compliance decisions. We work from what they have asked for and from your transaction history.

Someone offered to release my PayPal funds for a fee. Is that legitimate?

Treat it as a likely scam. Only PayPal can release funds. Fee-first recovery offers and people claiming inside contacts are common frauds aimed at people with held balances.

Are you affiliated with PayPal?

No. We are an independent case preparation service. We have no special access to PayPal, no internal contacts, and we do not claim otherwise. Every submission goes through the official route PayPal provides to account holders.

Can you guarantee my PayPal account will be reinstated?

No one can honestly guarantee a platform decision. What we control is the quality of the diagnosis, the evidence and the written response. We tell you at the review stage if we think the case is weak, and why.

How long does PayPal take to review an appeal?

PayPal sets its own review times and they vary with the case type and volume. What we control is preparation: our initial analysis is completed within 24 to 48 hours of intake once we have your notice and documents.

Can I appeal to PayPal myself instead of using a service?

Yes. Every account holder can use the official route, and our guides explain how. People come to us when the stakes are high, when appeals are limited, or when a first appeal has already been rejected and they need to know what was missing.

What should I send you to start a PayPal case?

The full notice text, screenshots of the account status, any appeals already sent and the replies, and the records that relate to the issue. Never send passwords or one-time codes: we do not need them.

My PayPal appeal was already rejected. Is it too late?

Not always. A rejection tells you what the reviewer did not accept. We read it against the original notice and your data to find the gap, and we tell you honestly whether a further submission is worth making.

Will you log in to my PayPal account?

We prefer not to. New logins from unfamiliar locations can trigger further security flags. You stay in control and submit through your own account while we guide each step.

Your PayPal case starts with the notice.

Send us what the platform sent you. We reply in writing with what we see, what we would do, and whether we think the case is worth pursuing.
