Google Business Profile suspension and reinstatement

A suspended Business Profile disappears from Search and Maps exactly when customers look for you. We work out which guideline or verification issue triggered it, correct the profile, and prepare a reinstatement request that answers what the reviewer checks.

Why Google Business Profile suspends accounts

Common triggers we see in Google Business Profile cases:

  • Suspicious activity: unusual edits to the business name, category, address, phone or website
  • Impersonation or misrepresentation: a business name or details that do not match the real-world business
  • Guideline violations: keyword-stuffed names, virtual offices listed as physical locations, or ineligible categories
  • Duplicate profiles for the same business, or profiles created for locations that do not exist
  • Website mismatches: a profile URL that does not lead to the business's own website
  • Verification gaps: failed video verification or documents that do not match the profile details

What your Google Business Profile notice usually means

“Your Google Business Profile has been suspended”

The profile is no longer visible on Search and Maps. Google's notice points to the guideline area to review before requesting reinstatement.

“Your profile has restricted features”

A partial restriction: some features are disabled while an issue is resolved, and the profile may still be visible.

“We need to verify your business”

Video or document verification has been requested. Failed or abandoned verification is a common path to a full suspension.

Wording varies. Search more phrases in the Suspension Notice Decoder.

The official route

  1. Read the suspension email and the policy area it names, and check the profile's edit history for what changed before the suspension.
  2. Audit the profile against Google's guidelines for representing your business: name, categories, address, service areas, hours, phone and website.
  3. Correct every violation first: a reinstatement request sent before the fixes are complete is the most common reason for rejection.
  4. Submit the reinstatement request through the official route in your Business Profile, and complete video verification if requested.

Evidence that carries weight

  • Proof the business operates at the address: signage photos, utility bills or a business license
  • Business registration documents matching the profile name and address exactly
  • Photos of the premises, vehicles or on-site work for service-area businesses
  • A screenshot of the profile's current details and edit history
  • The suspension email with its reason and date

What we prepare for your Google Business Profile case

You receive

  • Written diagnosis of your Google Business Profile notice and the policy it cites
  • Root cause statement drawn from your own account data
  • Evidence gap list and document consistency check
  • Appeal or Plan of Action text written for the Google Business Profile reviewer
  • Submission guidance and follow-up reply drafts

What we cannot do

  • Reinstate the account ourselves: only Google Business Profile can make that decision
  • Supply, edit or source documents, or describe fixes that have not happened
  • Help you open a new account or get around enforcement

Google Business Profile reinstatement FAQs

What is the difference between a soft and a hard suspension?

In a soft suspension the profile stays visible on Search and Maps but you cannot manage it until it is reinstated. In a hard suspension the profile is removed from public view. Both are answered through the same reinstatement route, and both start with fixing the underlying guideline issue.

Why did my profile get suspended right after I edited it?

Sudden changes to core details such as the name, address, category or website are a frequent trigger, especially on newer profiles. The edit history shows what changed and when, and it is the first thing we review.

Are you affiliated with Google Business Profile?

No. We are an independent case preparation service. We have no special access to Google Business Profile, no internal contacts, and we do not claim otherwise. Every submission goes through the official route Google Business Profile provides to account holders.

Can you guarantee my Google Business Profile account will be reinstated?

No one can honestly guarantee a platform decision. What we control is the quality of the diagnosis, the evidence and the written response. We tell you at the review stage if we think the case is weak, and why.

How long does Google Business Profile take to review an appeal?

Google Business Profile sets its own review times and they vary with the case type and volume. What we control is preparation: our initial analysis is completed within 24 to 48 hours of intake once we have your notice and documents.

Can I appeal to Google Business Profile myself instead of using a service?

Yes. Every account holder can use the official route, and our guides explain how. People come to us when the stakes are high, when appeals are limited, or when a first appeal has already been rejected and they need to know what was missing.

What should I send you to start a Google Business Profile case?

The full notice text, screenshots of the account status, any appeals already sent and the replies, and the records that relate to the issue. Never send passwords or one-time codes: we do not need them.

My Google Business Profile appeal was already rejected. Is it too late?

Not always. A rejection tells you what the reviewer did not accept. We read it against the original notice and your data to find the gap, and we tell you honestly whether a further submission is worth making.

Will you log in to my Google Business Profile account?

We prefer not to. New logins from unfamiliar locations can trigger further security flags. You stay in control and submit through your own account while we guide each step.

Your Google Business Profile case starts with the notice.

Send us what the platform sent you. We reply in writing with what we see, what we would do, and whether we think the case is worth pursuing.
